How It Works
How It Works
Forward thinking cities have chosen to utilize innovative wireless network solutions to help make
their operations state of the art as well as give residents access to the Internet all over the city. A
city wide WiFi system begins by putting WiFi nodes on city light poles tied together into what is
call a mesh network.

The WiFi nodes beam wireless signals between poles and the wireless Canopy backhaul located at
central towers around town. From the towers, the users have seamless connectivity to the
Internet.
The wireless backhaul also
provides the ability to put fixed
wireless broadband
connectivity to government
offices and businesses as a
cost-effective alternative to T1
access.

Instructions for Installing and using the Range Extender
If the signal in your home is a bit
weak, don't worry. There is a very simple solution to make it
stronger.

If your signal strength is less than 3 bars, you may want to
consider obtaining a Range Extender.

to provide your shipping address so we can send you a  Range
Extender for a one time set up fee.)
Installing

Installation of the Range Extender is a very simple task because the unit comes pre-
configured and ready to connect to the TexMesh network in your area. Finding a
good location for the unit in your home is important. Please follow these steps in order
to insure trouble free operation.

  1. Look outside at the light poles in your neighborhood. When you see a radio
transceiver that looks something like one of the pictures here, note the side of
your house closest to the transceiver.
  2. Look at the TexMesh label on your Range Extender and make a note of your
'SSID', 'passkey' and 'MAC', you will need these soon, and in the future if you
ever need to contact TexMesh technical support.
  3. Now locate the Range Extender on a piece of furniture near a window on the
side of the house closest to the transceiver and connect its power supply to
your wall socket and the power cable to the Range Extender. Ensure the
anttena(e) is vertical and away from other objects.
  4. If you wish to use the Range Extender to provide a wired Internet connection
to your computer or router, simply connect an Ethernet cable between the
Range Extender’s Ethernet port and your computer's LAN Ethernet port or
    your router’s WAN Ethernet port.
  5. Read the detailed instructions that came with the Range Extender to find out
how to tell when the Range Extender has contacted the TexMesh network.
  6. Once the Range Extender has contacted the TexMesh network, connect your
wireless enabled device to the Range Extender, merely by choosing  the
wireless network called TexMeshHomeWPA-nnnn, where nnnn matches
your individual SSID printed on your Range Extender's label.
  7. When prompted for a password or 'key', enter your 'passkey' printed on your
    Range Extender's label.
  8. Open your computer's web browser & sign-in using your TexMesh username
    and password.
  9. Congratulations! You are now ready to use the Internet.
The Range Extender we send you may look different than the ones shown above.
It is important to follow the instructions that come with your Range Extender in order to connect to the TexMesh network.

Determining if the Range Extender has a connection to the TexMesh network
When the Range Extender is plugged in, it takes 2-3 minutes for it to establish connection with the TexMesh network. If your
range
extender has an indicator light as described on its instruction sheet, check the light to make sure it has established the
connection.

If it cannot establish a connection, you may have to move the unit to a better location in your home or eliminate sources of
interference. Common sources of interference are microwave ovens, cordless telephones, other WiFi equipment and large metal
objects.

The Range Extender has apparently lost connection
If the unit has been working correctly but loses connection to the Internet , it is possible that the Range Extender unit needs
to be repositioned and/or restarted. Move the Range Extender to a different location, make sure the antenna(e) is situated
in a vertical orientation. Then unplug the unit, wait 15 seconds and plug back in.
